Why Your Health Is the Most Important Asset in Your Business
If you want more energy to increase your output so you can manage and grow your business, start by taking care of your body.
You stay up late to do more, but now your sleep and output are affected for the following two days. Ordering UberEats to make up for no food prep leaves you sluggish the next morning. You’re drinking your 3rd, 4th, 5th cup of coffee for the day, which only creates more stress and anxiety with no actual increase in output.
All of these things seem small in the moment, but they are compounding every day — and all negatively impact your performance.
Redlining your vehicle every day doesn’t increase your output at work. If you don’t give your vehicle regular servicing and repairs, performance will be lacking and it will break down more often. That’s why you’re losing energy halfway through the day and feel like quitting.
The moment you push too hard you gain weight, your body becomes stiff, and your decisions slow and become uncertain. You forget what it feels like to have the energy you used to have.
In the business transactions I see, there are two types of people: stressed and not. People who are stressed often don’t take the time away from the business to repair and maintain their bodies. Your bald tyres have you sliding all over the road — even going straight is hard right now. And then you wonder why everything feels harder than it should.
Look after your body and it will multiply everything you do. Neglect it and you will crash and burn.
We’re in business to support our families and our communities — and without your health, you can’t make good decisions or sustain the things that truly matter.
